Golden Gut Goodness: Trying Out Turmeric Bites
Rooted Radiance | Wellness Notes
Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into gut health—something I’ve struggled with for years. It’s affected everything from my energy to my mood, and while the journey hasn’t always been smooth, I’ve learned that healing can be creative (and even kind of fun).
Enter: Turmeric Bites—a simple, herb-packed recipe I found in The Forgotten Home Apothecary. These little golden nuggets are meant to be dried and eaten later to help support digestion, reduce inflammation (belly bloat and pain), and gently nourish the gut.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1/4 cup honey
7 tbsp powdered turmeric
2 tbsp powdered ginger
1 tbsp powdered marshmallow root
Mix it all up into a dough-like consistency, shape them into small bites - around the size of a quarter, and let them dry completely before storing (add some marshmallow powder to your hands to prevent the stickiness of honey from sticking to hands). I put them on parchment paper while drying. Eat one about two times a day.
I’ll be trying them out soon and will report back with my thoughts—flavor, effect, and all!
This kind of herbal kitchen magic blends my love of healing, herbs, and creativity. It’s one more way I’m working toward balance from the inside out—and I’ll take any excuse to play with beautiful golden powders in my kitchen!
Stay tuned for the full turmeric bite verdict.
Let’s see how it goes…
